Mid-century style is still used today in new structures. The name, Mid Century Modern Décor comes from the period in which the style emerged, that is between 1945 and 1970.  But, the design was used primarily between 1947 and 1957.

WHAT MAKES SCHEMES MID-CENTURY MODERN?

Mainly mid-century modern décor focuses on straight lines, wood furniture, geometric shapes and minimal color schemes throughout their ideas.

You can invest in unfussy, utilitarian-style furniture. However, the trend is more towards functional, fluid designs and abstract prints based on natural shapes. These are rediscovered and reinterpreted for today’s modern interiors, architecture and lifestyles.

You can weave character into a space by displaying books, ceramics, artwork and special objects. Moreover, you have the freedom to consider whether every element is essential and take away those that are not. It would be nice having things in the work area that either inspire or hold significant meaning.

However, to reflect the age of the property, you can use traditional grey for the walls, providing a contemporary note with pale-green doors and woodwork.

You can add a stronger color with green Safari chairs and cushions in sea blue tones to create a calm but edgy look.
